Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. (2Timothy 3:12 NASB)
Persecution in some way should be a given for Christians and not the exception. If the world is comfortable with us, we must not be doing and saying the things that we should. While we don’t want to seek out persecution or needlessly offend others, the truth is that the gospel is offensive. Telling people that they are not good enough to reach heaven on their own without God’s grace is needed offense. Living a godly life will be offensive and result in persecution. If this promise of God is true, than we must ask ourselves if we are not being persecuted, what are we doing wrong?
